The Seven Glacial Lakes

The Ausangate trek circles seven glacial lakes between 4,200 m and 4,800 m (13,779 ft to 15,748 ft).

The full circuit covers 10 to 16 km (6 to 10 miles) and takes four to six hours to complete. You will walk past seven high-altitude lagoons fed by the Ausangate glacier.

Because the trail stays above 4,200 m (13,779 ft), altitude acclimatization is highly recommended. The lakes vary in color from deep blues to bright greens.
